Dexwet is a leader in filter technology and currently owns over 60 original patents. Dexwet specializes in developing and commercializing the patented wet-filter technology that is durable, high quality, and easily reused multiple times.

Developed initially to effectively mitigate fine dust emitted by heat-sensitive equipment, Dexwet today offers a broad range of customized solutions for the capture fine dust particles and pathogens as small as 0.007 microns, with high efficiency and effectiveness over the filter lifecycle that is up to 12 times longer than with conventional, dry filter media. For example, the virus that causes COVID-19 is approximately 0.12 microns and the virus that causes the flu is approximately 0.08-0.12 microns. (See expert opinion report that supports these claims)

Dexwet Filters has patented wet-air filter technology that has been used in commercial equipment to filter fine dust particles since 2005. Dexwet Filters can be made from almost any materials, from cotton to plastic and even metal, to fit nearly any industry’s requirements without affecting its effective qualities. Dexwet Pure Air Filters are designed for one year of continuous effective operation. The Pure Airline has a durable plastic design. It allows the Pure Air Filter to be reused repeatedly, making it cost-effective.

Presently, Dexwet Filters has 5 basic patent families with over 60 globally issued 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generation patents. Dexwet Filter’s first Patent was granted in 2002 using wet filter rods. The second-generation filed in 2008 protected all other possible geometrical forms of Dexwet filter rods while being parallel and staggered. The production method was switched from fibres used initially to hydrophilic plastics. The third generation of Patents was granted in 2009. These are shared patents with Novomatics and secure any combination of a Dexwet filter as already protected with an artificial airstream produced by a fan.

Technological improvements in plastic mould injection and tooling facilitated the major step forward for Dexwet in terms of cost-effectiveness, and a fourth layer Patent family was granted in 2014, and this already covers the Pure Air Filter product line. The most recent Patent was granted in 2016 for the Aluminum Particle Filter and the final aspect that hydrophilic Dexwet protected design filters must not be moistened if fine oily particles can be filtered out of the airstream, thereby forming the absorption layer independently. This principle was also successfully demonstrated with the Dexwet high-performance motorsport filter for NASCARs that is also covered by this 5th layer.

New Products, Markets & Other Opportunities. Dexwet Filter’s flagship brand, Pure Air, uses a 4th generation patented technology with plastic construction. It is also easily reshaped and sized for a multitude of healthy air filter purposes. Our focus with the Pure Air Filter line is on intake and exhaust attachments for ventilation systems, which are size-specific to the standards in each geographic region. We are also developing add-on and replacement filters for existing ventilation systems which requires specific sizes as well. Other stand-alone personal safety products are being designed as internationally universal products that may only require minor customizations.

Dexwet Patent Families

Original wet filtration PCT patent „Apparatus and method for wet filtering of machine exhaust“ PCT filed in 2000 in the USA,

    • granted in Canada, Europe, Germany, Japan and USA, Denmark, Finland, Italy

Essential protection for the use of parallel and staggered filter rods that get moistured to operate wet in airstreams

Second generation PCT patent „Filter Module“ PCT filed in 2005 in Austria,

    • granted/validated in Austria, Australia, Canada, Europe, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Spain, United Kingdom, United States

Improvement of the method by using oil-absorbing plastics for the filter rods and new techniques to apply absorption fluid for the surface of the filter. Basic protection for any thinkable geometry of the filter sticks, round, cubic, triangle, flat, wing form, etc., as long as the sticks are positioned in parallel and staggered form

Third generation joint PCT patent with Novomatic filed in 2009 in Austria: “Air Cleaner for Removing Air Pollutants from an Airstream.”

    • granted/validated in Australia, Canada, China, South Korea, United States, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Europe, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russian Federation, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom

Protects any combination of Dexwet technology filters with an artificial airstream generated by fans or by a similar process. Second, it protects the „By-Pass“ filter configuration that is unique in the filter industry to protect electronic devices. Joint patent infringement defence option with Novomatic!!!

Fourth-generation PCT Patent, filed in Austria in 2014 „Hydrophilic filter. “

    • granted in China, Europe, Austria, Germany, United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Sweden, Netherlands and other countries pending

Refines and improves the second-generation 2005 by protecting plastic mold injection to produce any possible geometric form already protected since 2005 in industrial scale and widening the application scope to very slow and weak natural and convection airstreams. Protects any plastic mold injection product variants like Dexwet Pure Air (heat radiator), new lamellae filters that have already been successfully tested, also the NASCAR Motorsport filter in both generations

The fifth-generation Patent consists of two PCT patents filed in Austria in 2016, one being „Die Casting“ the other one „Moisturization“, the two are interconnected but also stand-alone

    • Granted in Austria, Europe (country phase started), pending in China, USA, Canada, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, India, Russian Federation

Protect Dexwet Filtration on the other side of the airstream velocity and temperature spectrum compared to family four and before, cover the production of Dexwet filters in metals and the process application in die casting with vacuum and heat. APF Filters for Vacuum systems deal with particle speeds close to the sonar wall, so up to 780mph, and ultimately filter out hot Aluminium particles at temperatures up to 1,000°F

The second Patent stands for the fact that oil-absorbing materials and the geometric structure of Dexwet filters will form the oily absorption surface necessary for the filtration itself if only sufficient oily particles are contained in the airstream. So it protects as the last method of moisturizing the filter sticks by not moisturizing them if you have fine oily particles in the airstream.

This last patent generation was successfully applied and marketed both with the APF technology for the Aluminium die casting industry and in the motorsport application for NASCAR.

With the new R&D facilities and the 3D printing capabilities we plan to implement, the next patent generation based on production improvements using this technology can be applied and rolled out globally again if our IP landscape should show any vulnerabilities. But with the third patent generation standing that firm and broad, we are well covered to license our IP and Know-how globally to any industry and application that may make sense.
